The ampmeter wire insulation is fried. I wrapped electrical tape around thewires, fastened the 2 connectors together with a nut and bolt, taped securely and vrooom. Thanks again.

Gentlemen, Thanks for the input. I will be swinging by the shop this afternoon and doing a few things on the car. One by trying the amp guage wire tie in. I checked out the recoomended sites and noted the amp gauge problems inherent to Mopars. Now I see why my wires are pretty much fried...
