    McMaster-Carr exhaust studs/end locknuts

McMaster-Carr is outstanding. I don't know how their catalog policy is currently, but it used to be that you couldn't get one of their catalogs unless you were in a position to actually order and use their items. Our company maintenance man could request and receive a copy without a question...

    Get a load a this!(slant 6 with a hole)

Ok, a little off the subject matter but a slant story... One of our club members races his slant almost every year at MATS. For a couple of years he was knowingly racing with one dead cylinder. He did some work on the slant and finally got all 6 cylinders working so was looking a running...

Question about my non original slant six

The difference was 'gross' compared to 'net' as abodyjoe said, but had nothing to do with crank horsepower vs. at the rear wheels. The 'gross' hp was at the crank without any accessories (alternator, power steering, ac, etc.); the 'net' was with all of the accessories.

    Custom Slant Valve Covers

If you're looking for votes Dartman, I vote for the rear placement on both valve covers so they're symetrical side-to-side - but I'm anal that way. Firm believer in "it's all in the details".

i made a mess after i saw this...

Take a look at the October issue of Hot Rod and the slant-powered track-T roadster. Wouldn't this be beautiful on that little car?

    Here we go

How about trying a 90-degree threaded fitting for the upper hose connection from the water pump if you can't find the correct hose? Should ease that hose restriction.

Can I do this ? valve cover breather ?

Hey Mike - Just a thought...why don't you have Leanna work some of her magic on that cap before you stuff it full?

    Stop changing your oil!

Had a buddy in high school whose entire family fleet used the Frantz oil cleaner systems with the toilet paper inserts. I haven't thought about them in years. I was shocked when I just did a websearch and found they're still available!!! http://www.wefilterit.com/ History: The Frantz...

    Sending unit float?

The strainer sock is exactly that - a strainer or pre-filter. It keeps whatever chunky bad stuff you may have in your fuel tank from clogging up/damaging the fuel line, fuel pump, or the actual fuel filter.

    Slant Six fun graphic

Great graphic idea. I like the imaginative use of the 6 exhaust ports. The members of the Orange Coast Darts, the very first car club that I belonged to back in the early '70s, had the club name painted on our rear quarter windows in a circular pattern. Each person had a comic graphic painted...

    mileage on your car

My current daily driver '95 Ram 2500 V10 has 156,000. Body needs paint and interior needs redone, but V10 torque-monster still running strong.

    UNBELIEVABLY but True

I agree with Burntorange 70, use this as a teaching/learning experience. He'll be on the lookout next time not to make the same mistake. Mistakes are usually the best way to learn. Much better than out of a book IMO. Sounds like a great father/son project.
