Need PHOTOs of Duster Door Window Track Assembly In-Car

Working on a 76 Duster.....Both door windows are extremely loose and goofy....Seem to have no stability with the tracking. They have the tubular track in the middle of the door.....seem all screwed up.... This is the first I've rolled them down and actually paid attention to the...

    Cleaning Vinyl seats

I use lemon simple green to clean vinyl with, but be careful not to leave it on.....just a little spray, a small brush, and then wipe clean....follow up with a rinse from a semi-wet rag. BUT, t'would be best after that to rub in some vinyl treatment (if you rub in the new "dull" (I forget the...

    Custom Dashes... show yours

Here's one in Burl........and one in real Cherry Wood veneer...........They're a PAIN to do right, but worth it in the end.

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

I can't get over how that tach fits so nicely in that hole, and the configuration too.....looks just like the vacuum gauge.......Really great choice. :blob:

It'll look better if I get the Hurst Pistol in there........Can't wait......Like I did in the Dart Sport, but probably a shorter handle.

Here she is with the lenses installed, then fit into the car for the first time. Sure feels better than a bare gauge frame!

After preparing the crystals, they had to be reinstalled over the existing plastic posts ........When you're sure they're seated all the way down, 2K Epoxy glue is used over the posts and holes to remake a plastic "rivet" of sorts. This will hold it in like the factory, but to avoid rattles, I...

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

This morning I pressed the Mahogany veneer into place, and applied some chrome edging to the inside 'track' of the dash and glove box bezels......Since this is fresh paint and fresh trim, I'll have excellent adhesion.....careful trimming brought it to life. You need to be sure to press this...

That bumper you did looks as good or better than some new "chrome" I've seen. Don't sell yourself short. :burnout:

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

I've used quite a bit of the available carbon fiber vinyl's out there.....Made a few A-Body dash kits out of the stuff....... Be SURE it's "FRESH" product.......If it is older stock, the adhesive can be crap and you'll have a non stick issue on your hands. Since yours is a 67 with the...

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

No hijack perceived........ It's good to see the other projects the guys are workin' on. I used the Killer Chrome on the Dart Sport project.........Stuff does look nice when it's prepped properly. The black base I mentioned was the Killer Black.........really nice black basecoat.

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

Although the FX Chrome stinks relative to it's "name", I'm gonna leave it as is.....It grew on me throughout the painting, and has a "pearly" appearance after the clear was applied. I prepped the rally bezel (and glove box bezel) down to the equivalent of a 1000 grit or so finish with 0000...

    Rallye Dash Resto-Kinda-Mod Thread

Well, we solved the elusive ignition problem, so the 67 is back on the road. Due to the wiring problem, I've had the dash apart for months.......Naturally, I was going to restore the dash bezel in the meantime, but my back is just now gettin' to the point where I can get back to work on...

    chalky plastic panels

Adam....... The previous post was spot on for these panels...... I've had some so bad that the edges were flaking.......They need to be cleaned up and "edged" (if they're that bad) with a bit of sandpaper, and the surface smoothed as well from the chalky texture.....gotta be careful not to...

    Deluxe Vs. Standard Interior?

You can overlay the "fake" factory woodgrain paint with real woodgrain veneer.........The car I pictured has been redone with real cherry wood......very aggressive adhesive.......Rolls Royce quality.

    Deluxe Vs. Standard Interior?

Wood grain and such for one......Like these door panels and dash panels....)the shifter and wheel are not stock).

    Pearl white vinyl

I have pearl white covers in the 68 Charger, BUT not sure about durability on the new stuff......... My Cuda is just plain white now (67)........I don't see any areas that might have been pearl........... Lots of guys here with white..........More will probably chime in.........

Replace the plastic between the door panels

You can use standard polyethylene plastic sheeting, BUT if you can get a piece of what they call "greenhouse plastic", it's better.....doesn't wear out or crack. Black duct tape can fairly duplicate the tape used at the factory on the bottom if you're a purist and care about such stuff). The...

Getting oil out of cloth seats

He's right.......the seat has to come out, and the cover has to come off.......it's the only way to get it out.......any other attempt and you'll see the oil keep reappearing, and getting into people's clothes too....... Take it apart and clean it completely with Dawn dishwash and barrels of...

Trying to remove instrument panel, need help (70 duster)

Yeah, I've tried a few without dropping the plate, but always ended up doing it anyway. It's safe that way for your plastic bezel.......Gotta stand on your head a bit, but it's worth being kind to the parts.

What do you guys do for a stereo?

On my 60's A-Bodies, I install period correct NOS Craig FM/8 Track units under the dash (they slide out of the harness for quick removal), and stock AM Radio's. Might not seem like much........Until you crank it, that is. They sound Great. 6X9 ovals on the rear deck (stock configuration)...

how do I get my #$%@##$%^% windows clean?

    67 Radio...Differences?

I'm wondering if a Duster/Demon/Dart radio from the early 70's will FIT the 1967 Barracuda dash cutout........... Anyone tried this before?? I know a B-Body radio from 67 is too big, and the center rectangle cutout is not quite right........:clock:
