    We would squirt Marvel mystery oil into each cylinder through the spark plug holes. Work it by hand until it turns. Might take s week to work into the cylinder &rings. Get some good gas & starting fluid .Dump a little through the carb & crank .It would start .Slants are tough SOB's.

    Power relay You'll want to add a power relay to guarantee full line voltage to the ignition module at all times. If the ignition module is starved for power, it'll work unreliably and it'll die prematurely. The module really needs to see full line voltage, and the wiring in most of our cars...

    My mistake. Mopar Al you are correct. My oil gauge has the copper line & my temp gauge has the capillary line. Getting old memory not what it used to be.

    So am I. I have a mechanical temp gauge , I replaced the sender on the head & run the copper line because I don't trust the nylon where it goes thru the firewall. I use a BOSCH Gauge & a copper tubing kit seems to work well for me. Just my 2 cents .

    You can purchase a mechanical gauge with several different thread adaptors1/4,3/8,1/2 tpi.Buy the copper line kit -Bosch7584 to replace the nylon line that comes with the gauge . No tapping or machining involved -drop in replacement

    Slant six .org has info on this .Better starters than 50 year old rebuilds.Doesn't sound traditional but no one complains once they install new starters. Sure there is info on this site as well. Slant Six Dan can explain in detail .

    Check on slant six .org -I believe slantsixdan had posted a tech article about this exact issue . You will need to bend the v8 linkage but everything else is the same I believe. there is alot of good info for the slant 6 on that site.
