    318 2bbl intake manifold?

Thanks for info on the manifold. I am going to look into the fuel line idea. I already have a 1/2" wooden spacer under the carb but it is on a Holley aluminum Strip Dominator manifold & I am switching to a stock cast 340 manifold. I appreciate any advice.

    318 2bbl intake manifold?

I took that plate off of a 340 4 brl manifold that I bought & it was packed with gunk. I am running an Edelbrock w/an electric choke so I do not need the manifold heat riser. I am however always struggling with vapor lock. Will leaving this plate off help or hurt my vapor lock situation? I would...

    Cracked intake

This post went a couple days with nothing now it has blown up with advice! Thanks for the help & suggestions. I have been told that a friend has been offered a FREE stock Mopar 4 barrel manifold that will work. We are awaiting the actual pick up of said manifold so if all goes well I will have a...

    Cracked intake

Here are some pics of the crack. One of them shows light shining through it from behind.

    Cracked intake

Is it worth it? What will welding it cost? It is cracked underneath so if it leaks once it is on the car it will cause some issues. Thanks guys.

    Cracked intake

So I tried to save some money since times are tough right now & I bought a used Edelbrock Performer 318/360 @ the Rockingham, NC show a couple weeks ago. Threw it in the blast cabinet & hit with some walnut shells to get it clean. It looks much better clean but it has a 3"+/- crack on the bottom...

    Idle acting crazy

I have been messing with the car all week. I have adjusted the fuel mixture screws & the idle a bit. I also had a possible vacuum leak since 2 of the carb bolts were loose. None of the carbs or gasket kits come with lock washers but could I use lock washers to help keep the carb tight? Or do I...

    carb spacers???

It sounds like vapor lock. Mine was doing the same thing last summer. It is a combination of the heat, today's gas evaporates faster due to all the additives. I added a 1/2" wood spacer under my 1406...

    Idle acting crazy

Got under the hood at home & I do not see any fuel dripping while in park. had the wife sit in the car with it in gear & still do not see any excess fuel dripping into the engine. The fuel is sputtering into my clear fuel filter, not sure if that is normal. It is a new stock fuel pump but I...

    Idle acting crazy

I have insulated my fuel lines by splitting another fuel line & zip tying it around the ones on the car with the split facing up to allow heat to dissipate. I really do not understand why it clears up in idle, it is weird. It is not like the idle is too low & I have to put it in neutral every...

    Idle acting crazy

I will check & see if it is dripping fuel at all tonight. I know I smell fuel all the time. I am running a stock fuel pump, I do not know what psi it puts out. Would flooding the carb cause the idle to drop like that to where the car almost seems like it is going to stall but then recover just...

    Idle acting crazy

This is a recent development with the way my car is idling since it has started getting up into the high 80s in NC already. I had vapor lock issues last summer & thought I had taken care of them but it is acting up again. I can't have the car not drivable when it gets hot or I won't be able to...

    Carb Spacer? Edelbrock w/ 318

I used a 1/2" one on a 318 that I have in my '65 Barracuda with the same carb. My car was vapor locking last summer when I first bought it & the spacer seems to be one of the main reasons that I have been able to control the vapor lock. They also supposedly improve performance. I got mine from...

    1405 or 1406 edelbrock carb

I have a new Edelbrock 1406 with the electric choke. I think they are great carbs. They are super easy to adjust & they stay where you set them.
