Put a qt of fluid in, plugged the fill tube with a rubber stopper. Drove around a little, so far so good... :prayer: maybe I just need a dipstick that seals???? Supposedly a stick for a gm 700 r-4 will fit, i dunno gm on a mopar, not good :-(

No checked idling warm in N, Had to put a quart in to get it up to level. I'd wonder if I had the wrong dipstick but it starts slipping aftr it gets low till I fill it back up.

Have a 74 dart /225 w/904 Trans seems to be blowing fluid out the fill tube. It was suggested that it could be blocked vent. Which from what I understand is located behind the torque conv so I'd have to pull trans to check? Also suggested that I blow some air into filler tube to see if I can...

I'll check tomorrow but I'm pretty sure the inspection cover is on it.

Called a few trans shops looking for a dipstick for /6 225 dart 904, basically told me good luck. Found some on fleabay that says they fit chrysler 904 and gm 700 r-4. Anybody know if they're the same dipstick? I should be able to find one for a 700 r-4 locally I'd think. Thanks.

So from where I was told the vent is, behind the converter, I'd have to pull the trans?

okay degreased it moved it to driveway parked it opened hood and already had a puddle, wet all over side of block. looked like it was coming from top of filler tube (dipstick dosen't seem to sit in it good. Started it added some fluid shifted it through the gears a few times couldn't get any to...

What gets me most is I can't quite figure out the common component of when it leaks, because it only leaves spots sometimes. Thanks for the ideas/suggestions:thumbup:

Gonna have to degrease it and try the drive around the block thing cause it leaks a little oil also so the whole area is kinda wet looking

yes idiling in n, only moved from other side of driveway shouldn't have got hot.
