U-joint on steering shaft: float or bolt down?

Your not being a dick at all, sometimes it takes pictures, (and even crayons) to explain facts to people who think a Chinese u joint is a "upgrade" Those type of people should NOT be working on cars.

U-joint on steering shaft: float or bolt down?

Never underestimate a person's ability to "out smart" oem engineers who designed a coupler that does everything it should and lasts 50 years.

Beat A Dead Horse Demon Suspension Recommendations

More comfortable to ride in? You will never experience as smooth of a ride from a coil over setup. Mopar used to call there suspension "torsion air" for a reason. And a gen 3 can be bolted directly into a stock torsion bar chassis. But if you want some tube suspension, go for it. It's only money

Beat A Dead Horse Demon Suspension Recommendations

Keep in mind the fastest, most competitive mopars on oval track, road course or similar events are on torsion bars. The only thing you gain performance wise on those aftermarket Kits are header clearance. And a much emptier pocket

    auto cross

One "secret" to the torsion bar suspension, it it transfers the wheel motion into a twisting motion, then absorbed by the torsion bar crossmember. It's the reason the wheel rates can be sufficiently high enough for hard cornering, but still not "teeth rattling" And....over the years of racing in...

    Alterkation or K1?

And still to this day, the fastest, best handling mopars are still on torsion bars. Coilover conversions are designed to remove cash from people's wallets who dont have a clue what real handling is

Help with 1959 Dodge Sweptline front suspension upgrade/conversion ideas?

The crown vic suspension is caveman simple to install, I have done 3 of them on 65 up sweptline trucks, but the earlier frame shouldn't be much different

    1967 Valiant Suspension Dilema

To date the FASTEST road race mopars use the torsion bar suspension, none of the aftermarket systems offer any handling advantages over the torsion bar system. They offer more header room, and bling for those who dont know any better. The famous mopar action "green brick" build is good reading...

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

The coilover conversion Kits originated from the desire to have more header clearance. They never were designed, or marketed as a performance handling improvement, because the coilover design is NOT a improvement over a proper torsion bar system. A guy can spend his money how he wants. I like...

    Hotchkis tvs.

Totally irrelevant, the stock suspension will last 100k miles on rough roads, through pot holes and road grime and salt. All those heim joints? Not a chance. The factory suspension was never designed to be a "race car" suspension, it's just so happens that with a few tweeks, it IS capable of...
