    So the article points out that a max cube slant, runs about like a 2 barrel 273, until it stops making power at about 4500 rpm. Lots of work and expense for a lackluster outcome.

    I don't DISLIKE a slant really, I just couldn't get excited about one after owning quite a few. I had ideas of putting a turbo on one at one time, but never did. It's cool we don't all like the same thing tho!

    Tune up what you have, maybe swap on the super six parts and have a nice exhaust system installed....not a lot of money, then enjoy the car till you can afford a basic 5.2/5.9 magnum swap. No way I'd spend a grand on someone else's slant, especially if I allready owned one

    It's already been pretty clearly explained if you read through the replies....especially AJs post.....a naturally aspirated slant six capable or running low 14s or high 13s in a typical 3100lb a body will be a temperamental engine and not much fun...

    V8 without a doubt. A stock 360 magnum can get you in the 14s in a good chassis.
