    I REALLY think so also. I have an electronic distributor to fit it , do you know what kind of 'gadgets' I need to go with it ? Wiring ? ( I get paid on Friday and am broke by bills Saturday morn. )

    I guess I will check compression tomorrow , make sure my new spark plugs and wires are firing and look for cracks in the dist.cap. Already checked firing order 3 times. What the hell does a ballast resistor do ?

    Should I have CLEARED the valves with the gauge ALL the way through , or stopped when I did at the 'edge' ?

    10-4 Something is screwed up , but if it was timing , wouldn't it buck from the start ? Cold start , fine. Run it to the store and it poops.

    Thanks, yeh I got the exhaust and intake right , seems straight forward. The see through filter has plenty of fuel. Carb is a Eldebrock 650. I adjusted timing by ear.

    I have tried every shade tree trick I know of on GT. 1964 273 4 bbl 4 speed. New points adjusted to .017 , and again. Solid lifters , adjusted 10 intake , 20 exhaust. ( I guess those arms line up with spark and exhaust ports , and , does the gauge need to clear it ALL. Or just the 'edge'. )...

    New Accel coil leak

    Either I have very good eyes, or very bad, but, what is up from what seems to be a leak of liquid coming out a new Accel coil ? Coil did seem to be rather hot to the touch. Jeez.

    So the thrust bearing is in the front, or is it what keeps popping up in my searches as part of the transmission ?

    Is it normal to see the crank pulley move in and out slighley while revving the motor ? I have double checked the tightness of the dampner, the 1 1/4 bolt, seems tight.

    Intake manifold question

    Thanks ! Now for something completly different... we changed-out the timing chain this weekend as the vacuum was reading low, 13-17 lbs. When we took the old chain off, the marks were at the top of both the crank and cam gears. So, we put it back the same way. ( one keyway ) I am being told now...

    Intake manifold question

    Hello friends ! I have searched the threads here and on the more appropiate 'ForB-BodiesOnly' site, and cannot find out what intake manifolds might interchange with the 318 poly engine. We have a leaking passage in the exhaust crossover of my son's Belvedere. Any input would be great...
