Deutsch bulkhead and backing plate from Maven.

Looking for high quality wire and connector brands.

Looks like nice work so far. I try to use TXL "cross link" wherever possible. Thinner insulation (lighter) and more strands per wire for whatever gauge you're using. You can generally get it in bulk from places like Del City, Waytek and even Summit. Obviously the more you buy the cheaper it is...

    Pictures of my garage

You quoted my post but I'm not RRA? That picture was from about a year ago, I've cleaned it up since then. I took the picture because of how messy it was, made me laugh. It goes in cycles but definitely does not stay clean for long. In any event, the garage is approx. 45' deep x 26' wide. The...

Thanks. Took me like three days get that bench cleared off, no joke. I can never get it to where everything is put away either and the cycle starts again before cleanup is even finished. My new goal is to put stuff together and put it in the car where it belongs instead of tripping over it or...

I cleaned mine the other day. I had to, it was at the point where I couldn’t do anything. I hate cleaning.

    Spray Gun

Agree on using two different guns. Primer gun should have a larger tip. When I painted my Duster recently (single stage) a friend lent me his primer gun. I bought the one linked below for the paint from an auto body supply store. I like it. They said lots of guys they knew of use the same gun...

    Vidmar Shelves and Drawers mounting.

On the website find the product catalog and either open it in a browser or download it. Around pg. 40 it shows shelf cabinet configurations and options.

Ehh, I always try to take the high road and handle this kind of thing with an even keel. Friends are fine until they aren’t or something like that. While I had no idea what was going to happen with the car itself, I had become slightly annoyed with the guy because the engine project we were...

I don't know, I hope not. I do think the reality of the situation has set in for him now though and he feels bad about what he did and for losing me as a friend. That doesn't change anything on my end though and I'll never make any sort of effort with this guy ever again. I actually offered to...

So now that the wasn't-meant-to-be big block Fury is out of my hair, I started to clean up. It's been a big job so far. When I pulled the 360 out of it last week, it puked all it's remaining liquid onto the floor and made a huge mess. The engine stand it was on was made incorrectly because the...

Sold it all at Carlisle in 2019. Rob only bought the block off me and that was what like, 2014?

Ok first of all, what the hell are you doing up at 4:31AM??? Second - ha, look at that, my old block! That was a good engine. It went low 12s on 7 cylinders. I do have another standard-bore 340 block that is still in storage, I think it’s a ‘70. Plus an ‘89 360 roller block, two virgin 400...

Thank you. The situation with the Fury was just baffling for me. I've been friends with this guy for over 25 years. It was never about making any money for me just about working on car stuff with a friend. I never charged the guy a dime. I spent two years teaching/helping him with his engine...

This is from last summer after getting the Duster out of it's four year storage hibernation. It's nothing special, just a basic 318 car though it is from Southern California and is rust free. I've had it since 2012 and actually bought it off FABO. 5 years ago the guy that put the roll bar in it...

Not all mine actually! The ‘66 Fury is leaving today, it’s a friends car. It’s a long story - it was here for a big block driveline conversion but right before the 438” stroker engine was supposed to go in, it was found to be rustier than expected and ultimately too involved/costly to move...

Compression fittings! But otherwise it's been good. Fairly easy to install. I'd say it's worth it. Unless you're a plumber and can bend/thread pipe then this is the most efficient way to go.

    Lift placement

Here's mine. Pic is from about a year and a half ago when my garage was just finished. The lift is far enough toward the back wall where I can pull another car behind it while still having room for a workbench and tool boxes in front. It was installed far enough away from the outside wall to...

    High lift transmission jack

Not to take anything away from that idea but it looks cumbersome and seems like it would be difficult to maneuver around under a lift because the footprint is so large and how the weighted boom extends so far out. I also know from experience that my engine hoist is much less precise in it's...

    High lift transmission jack

Got this two stage off CL for $150 and I got lucky. Its an old Snap-On which I didn't realize when I bought it. It's "high lift" at least 70". I can put my lift on the top lock when using the jack. However, when I R&R'd my gas tank, I did have to lower the lift two clicks with the jack at full...

Speedy dry. Like $10 for a huge bag. Oil Dri I think is the name. Should be able to get it at the parts store. Kittly litter works too.

    Crank Turning Sockets

Yeah, I am wondering the same thing. Pretty hard to do unless you drop 'em repeatedly or use them for something they were not intended for. Do he ones you destroy have a set screw?

Before you pitch the old washer

Ha, good call, I know what you mean about the wire. I used to work at a Jeep dealership. One day I saw a full BRAND NEW harness being tossed. I grabbed it and have used it a lot. MILES of factory-spec wire and connectors. Saved me a lot of money, have a bunch of it on my car.
