    Check your grounds too. A loose or corroded ground can cause that issue.

    Oh, crap. I missed the part about starting in neutral. Either a misadjusted linkage, or a bad NSS.

    Check the connectors for being plugged in all the way, and don't randomly pull at things. I had an issue with my connector going from the ignition switch to the bulkhead. I found that the plug was worn out and would randomly lose contact which would shut the car off while driving down the road...

    Check your connector from the IGN switch to the dash harness. The connectors can get corroded or loose, and it won't make contact on all the pins. My dart was quitting while I was going down the road, and then it would immediately restart, and I found this when I looked deeper into it:

    Refresh my memory: Did you check out the coil with a multimeter? You can read across the input leads for a resistance value. It shouldn't be "0", or "open". There should be some resistance there through the coil windings.

    Put a meter on the coil. If you get an open circuit, it's bad.
