Well I finish rebuilding them and what a difference. Now I am thinking of different ways to hold them on the pins those push clips seem cheesey.

Can they be removed without takin off fenders?

Is there any way to weld a thin piece of metal on to give it some backbone.

On the mopar site bigblockdart a guy drilled out the rivits that hold the hindge parts together welded a bolt and used a nut and a nylon washer .

When I did my roof rails 1 side was diff than other but I made it work. Soft seal is crap unless u have a cheby. But its all there is.

I have seen people use the ones you said with a washer.

It depends on where the car is kept and used for .if its garaged and summer use no rain that the rust sealer and filler, paint .if daily driven cut weld replace.I did the bubble repair on the scamp cheap way.Also ck behind the panel if dirt or crap is built up it holds water and causes rust.
