if it was built after April 71, then the engine would have been Blue from the factory. have you cdhecked to see if its numbers matching and the buld date on the block? if you have the build sheet or the fender tag, you should be able to determine the Build date. The 72's did have the twister...

There are several ways to identify a matchng numbers mopar, but these are the easiest. First is the engine and trans. On big and small blocks after 69, the last 6 digits of the vin are stamped on the engine block, passanger side above the oil pan and the trans has the same 6 digit stamping on...

According to the sales brochure for the 71 model year Dusters with Console, they were high backs. Have not come across anytihng showing a low back seat with console personally. Hope this helps...

It was 1971, I was 16 and had my first Mopar, a 340 Duster. Joined the Rapid Transit System that year and was wondering if there are any original members around the board today. Those were the days for sure. If so, sound off...Lets see how many there might be.

The Scope and Call Out decal overpower the hood. I'd recommend the Decal only. I don't think Plymouth sold both options together. I've seen it on one Duster and it seemed a bit much to me.
