65 Dart GT, a guy and his son who have almost no idea what they’re getting themselves into

Welcome here, and sorry about your son. I lost two of my kids in one day, I know your pain. The car is a really good start, you are over the paint and interior hurdle, the big cash. Mechanical stuff and wiring is easy, but frustrating at times.

    Feeling the Pain

Radiators are not too expensive to repair, unless the tanks are rotted, or have froze and burst.

    Feeling the Pain

I bet the wiring is why the truck was parked....

    Feeling the Pain

That is a clean truck, the girls smile says it all. Check all the grounds on the truck, I have had 5 of them, most wiring issues are grounds on these trucks. I had a no-start issue one time, the ground on the radiator support, was garbage, took me a few days to find that one. The current one I...

I have a stock 8.75 for an A body, blasted and primed, need to find room in my outbuilding to stash it. I sold the car I bought it for.

So true, tons of parts for the Ford 9" look under pickups, vans, Bronco's and old land barges for them in the junkyard.

    Youngin Can't Decide

It’s a shame you are not closer to WV, I have a co-worker with a nice 70 dart, 408 blueprint, TCI trans, factory 8.75 rear with just installed 4.10 gears, factory front disks. It’s an original sheetmetal car, nothing replaced. He did put fresh shiny paint on it a few years ago. Could use some...

    Youngin Can't Decide

I am agreeing with this, around here salvage cars only bring about 25% of the value of clear title cars. Also since it sounds like this is not a forever car for you, it will hurt you when re-sale time comes.
