Mine looked the exact same, swapped in single spline side gears and I'm using them to this day.

I had the same problem with a set of Yukon axles 10+ years ago. @DoctorDiff new exactly what happened, the axles were built short (Yukon knows but evidently doesn't care). Swapped out the side gears for a single spline set and I'm still using the axles to this day. 742 clutch type sure grip

3rd member was leaking, swapped in the 3.91’s, actually ran slower at the track (couldn’t get them to hook). 3.23’s are back in and it’s a breath of fresh air.

I have 2 different torque shafts but I can’t find any info saying the one in the car wouldn’t work with a 727. Console shifter with 904 linkage to a 727 Lower Shifter Bracket : suit 904/727 Torqueflite Selector Bar

I can’t seem to find the answer I’m looking for. Which parts are needed for a 1969 dart floor shift? Is there a difference between 727/904 linkages?

Or you could get your hands on a 3.09 4 speed gear set. (64-65 a bodies) swapping early 3.09 1st into later case

The megashifter won’t work. The square piece that holds the top boot in place will get in the way.

I’d like to add that we put up on the alignment rack jacked up the rear tires and it did it on the hoist. Driveline looked smooth

so far so good.

the parts store had another seal. stacked them. found a bigger o-ring to try (had to tap it in instead of sliding in nice. going to be a bxxch to get out) I'll check it when I get home from work. thanks

i read somewhere you can use a turbo 400 seal and it works better. I've ordered a couple from the local parts store and they didn't work. anybody had success and what part number did you use?

When I said 130 mph I was talking about the 3.23 gears. I’m still using the same speedo gear from the 3.23’s so the mph is off in the video. The vibrations start probably around 75mph and I let off probably around 90. With the 3.23 gears it would happen at a speed that would never be reached...

pretty sure that should have happened by chance by now but I will give it a try. wondering if rear thrust angle would have anything to do with it? (alignment still needs some tweaking only had time to set toe last time on the rack)

gear swap only. The driveshaft was purchased from Dr. diff a while back. 1350 u joints with nut style straps. Come to think of it pretty sure it did the same thing last time I had these gears in. (so that means its done it with a different block, 4 speed trans, different drive shaft, 904...

1969 Dart 360, 727, 8 3/4. Noticed bad vibration after gear swap. Doesn't do it in neutral or any other gear besides the top end of 3rd. Suppose it could have done it with the 3.23 but its not often that I drive 130+mph. hard to tell in the video but its a viscous vibration/shake thats felt...
