    Pull that dist out prime motor with a good 1/2 drill. LOOK down dist hole while priming.

    Put a 1/2 drill on it.

    Take spark plugs out . Hook up oil pressure line, turn it over with starter. You should have pressure.

    OK Guy's I checked them out. OFFSET on INTAKES is to great. Here's some pics. I'll correct e-bay ad. I did mock up on short block forgot to get that pic.

    I would not take a chance.. I'd go flat top light weight piston ... Where you find a 40 year old STD bore 340 ?

    Or just switch shafts w/rockers from lf to rt Might help you pin point problem. Shafts can be cleaned out remove softplugs from ends.

    sounds like you have 273 rockers. Is it a solid camshaft ?
