    Horse power guesstimations

    I have the Desktop Dyno and it was almost dead nuts accurate! Horsepower was within 1hp and 100 rpm. torque was within 11ft;lbs and 100rpm!

    Mopar Muscle built a 360 with an Air Gap, Eddy RPM heads, .238/.246 Comp Hyd. Roller cam,10:1 comp., TTI headers, 750 carb and it made 450hp/450torque. All with untouched parts.

    Approximately 150 lbs. I'd heard that 440's weigh 650 with the 340 about 100 lbs. less. Take away another 50 lbs. for aluminum heads.

    Realistically I don't think you can get this done CORRECTLY for under $200. Are you sure it only needs bearings & seals or is that what you were told? The green bearings are about $100 by themselves. Differential kits are about $100. Can you press the carrier & axle bearings on & off yourself...

    iron heads for a 408?

    I'm more interested in having a flat torque curve than top end horsepower. I mean you "use" torque more often in regular everyday driving but can't really feel horsepower unless you're at the track.
