    Clutch issues again!

if you are saying the fingers are flat with the plate bolted down that's wrong they should be raised slightly that could be caused by too thick of disc or the plate assembled wrong also your release bearing could be leaking through at a certain pressure acting like a pressure relief valve and...

    gear ratio choise

the od trans has a low 1st gear I think around 3.08 ,I had one in by aspen with a 2.94gear I would bet your cam is mismatched or you need your dist recurved, but mine had plenty of tire spinning in it, with a 268 cam.

lost all gears last night in a833od?

engine vibration can cause those to break ,also you switched it to a 4 speed if I read right, could be a alignment issue , is the bell housing dialed in correctly just more things to check while its apart. you don't want to do it again. and RRR is right about the quality of those parts ,they are...

lost all gears last night in a833od?

if the blades are being held In or uneven you might have broken clutch disc springs down between the disc and plate, it only takes a small piece to break off and fall in the assemble.

    gearbox install advice

was this a automatic car switched to a four speed ?you might check input depth to make sure its deep enough for the input or you'll need to trim a little off the inputshaft. if you keep having problems this is where you should start looking, good luck.

    Opinions please. 833 Clutch issues

when you put the clutch on did you lay the disc on the flywheel and check to make sure the disc didn't hit the flywheel bolts, this can be a problem with flywheels that were turned too much. I always sit the bolts in the flywheel then place the disc flat and look for clearance between them this...

    Opinions please. 833 Clutch issues

I usually adjust the rod for 1/4"'' of play at the z bar and should have between 1/2 to 1'' at the pedal when done. if not look for a bent or broken weld on z bar ,the lower the clutch grabs lets you know it has plenty of lining left .

    66 Barracuda pilot bushing question

after you install the bell housing measure the depth of the hole from the trans surface to bottom of hole ,it could be a little short by 1/4 inch ,sometimes you can cut a small piece off the input shaft to correct problems. good luck.

    gear lube vs. tranny fluid

I run 20w non -detergent oil in my 833 /tried 90w to hard to shift in cooler weather, automatic fluid to thin in summer and I could hear the trans bearings singing ,maybe the alum case made it worse.

    66 Barracuda shift problem

sounds like its wore out ,if its adjusted right or the throw out bearing could be hanging up on the bearing sleeve ,causing incorrect adjustments could just need grease on the bearing retainer.
