does anyone know if the z bar bracket mount on the bell housing of a 78 f body od833 will fit a 73 abody. changing over from auto to 4 speed od unit. thanks

The bracket will work if you keep it with the 78 bell . The difference is some bells have the bolts that hold it on at a front to rear angle and some are straight up and down. They must stay together

, the a body ball stud bracket from 68-71 must be installed on a 68-71 bell housing, and it would work on 68 up, the bracket for a 72-74 including the overdrive trans bracket must be used on the 72 and up bell housing, that also will work on 68 up, the earlier bell housing bracket holes are parallel over and under, the 72 up holes are staggered.
