    Overheating problem

Just remember thermostats keep car from running too cold, not from running too hot. But I agree, it could just need a good flushing or your water pump could be rusted to the point it isn't circulating water. So check for circulation. also.

MP 360 overheats no matter what i do

That is accurate, but so is what I have been saying, there will always be conditions that stress your system, but your cooling system needs to be able to cool your system in all environments that you travel in down to your thermostats range, or you risk the possibility that you will overheat...

MP 360 overheats no matter what i do

Your cooling system should be able to let your thermostat regulate the temperature of your car in all driving conditions with some reserve cooling ability. Otherwise you risk overheating.

MP 360 overheats no matter what i do

I was merely pointing out that if you have an 180 thermostat but never get below 196 it may be your system regulating your temperature and not your thermostat. If your thermostat never closes after your car warms up there is an issue with the capacity of your cooling system, or you just have a...

MP 360 overheats no matter what i do

The thermostat should set the lowest temperature that your car will run at under any conditions, not the capacity of your cooling system. That being said even 196 may be an issue if something is being overtaxed.

    Home made fan shroud.

"Painting a radiator black would almost certainly make its performance worse. You have no guarantee it will be any blacker in the far infra-red, and the paint itself would act as a heat insulator degrading the radiators ability to transfer heat to the air." You saw this part right ?

    Home made fan shroud.

So what you are saying is that in a pitch black environment, where color has no effect on anything, something painted black will radiate heat more than something painted white. I think you are think of surfaces radiating heat from the sun, not surfaces radiating heat from within.

Good Idea, or you could just add 2 smaller fans.

    Home made fan shroud.

You are not really serious are you? Paint will just holds heat in, on the shroud probably won't make much of a difference either way but on the radiator, it would just make it worse.

    Engine overheating

Thermostats only set the minimum temperature that the engine will run at, if your cooling system is adequate then this is also your running temperature. So putting a lower temp thermostat will only lower the engine temp if it isn't already having a cooling issue. Removing the thermostat and...

    Thermostat vs. No Thermostat ?

A thermostat keep an engine from running too cold. If it is overheating it isn't necessarily the thermostat, Get a high flow thermostat and try that, but I would never suggest running without one. if your car is overheating several things need to be checked. 1) blocked radiator 2) Too Small...

whats the best thermostat for /6

Thermostats do not make your engine cooler if you have an overheating problem it usually not the thermostat. Thermostats keep your engine from running too cold, not too hot. You probably need to flush your cooling system. I would also make sure that your pump is moving water like it should...
