Crank first then kick. why ruin your accelerator pump on an empty carburetor.

its an old car way of making sure you have everything lubricated before it starts. :) 5 seconds of cranking then 5 pumps repeat until ignition. :)

Adding a fuel pressure gauge just before the carb should tell you if you are fuel starved.

I am sure that is 2536430 ? Anyway I don't think that they cast the 6 pack blocks any different than a standard 440 block, I could be wrong. So a six pack designation, if there is such a thing would be stamped on the block and not cast into it...
