    I scored an a body rear.

    This is the last three numbers on the part number on the case. The different numbers refer to pinion stem sizes. 741 is generally considered the weakest, while the 742 and 489 are debatable as far as which is stronger. 741 pinion stem is 1-3/8", 742 stem is 1-3/4", and 489 is 1-7/8" tapered stem.

    The rear was probably an 8.75, but without the build sheet, it is hard to say what gear ratio and if it was a sure-grip. Or the rear could have been an 8.25. I think the cutoff for A-body 8.75's was sometime around the end of '72 and the beginning of '73. That's no 4 speed car though. D13 means...

    Possible new project

    And it just so happens that I have the front end pieces you need. Somebody swapped a '73 Duster front end on my '72 Scamp after they hit a deer, so now I have a '73 Duster front end (hood,bumper,bumper brackets,grille support,grille) sitting around waiting to leave.
