    Hydraulic jack fluid.

I bought a rebuilt single pot master cyl and some lines and fitting to pop some caliper pistons out of a KH caliper. I would rather not use brake fluid due to its paint eating characteristics (ask my sister how I unknown this) I have a bottle of Jack oil I'll never use so i figured it would...

10" drum and disk bearing dust covers

I was looking for a bearing dust cover for my 10" drum brake Dart. I looked at Rock Auto and on Dorman's website and both sites say 618-100 (13976) is the correct cap. The specs show it is 1.6 OD Well when it got here from Rock Auto. You know it, it did not fit. Way too small. Maybe it fits...

1" master cylinder rebuild kit alternative

Just had a thought... Mustang 1" disk drum master cylinders are plentiful. Has anyone tried swapping the guts from a mustang master into a Chrysler master? If they are both made by Bendix there is a pretty good chance the internal are the same?

What chemical would you soak a master cyl in?

I have a master cyl that was well sealed for 40 plus years. The inside of the reservoirs are not rusty but is kind of solid with dried brake fluid. Right now I'm just trying to get the crusty solid gunk out. Chemical thoughts

    10 x 1.75 brake shoe differences.

So after my 8 3/4 swap I reused the brake hardware from my 7 1/4. Both use 10x 1.75 brakes. The backing plates are NOT the same without modification of the center hole and adding the 5th hole. All was looking good. I cleaned up all the parts, bought new shoes and cylinders. Lubed...

Aluminum, cast iron looking master cylinder

Reading my latest (Feb 2022) Mopar Action (which has a significant brake article.) Referred to an aluminum master cyl that shaved about 4 lbs from the car BUT looks like a stock cast iron mc. Not much different price than a rebuilt cast iron one...

So I found a leaking rear wheel cylinder, my master seeped some time in the last 7 years into the interior ( probably after setting for 4 years in the garage at my dad's house) but is good now.
