    Big block and A/C?

Any big block owners with A/C out there? In particular those that are installing units on non-factory AC cars. If so what system did you use and what other options are you running? I'm thinking of buying an aftermarket unit and wanted to know what others are using. Are there any clearance issues...

AC compressor replaced, too much oil?

I recently replaced the compressor and dryer/receiver on my truck. A rep for the company that supplied the compressor said that it was not filled with oil but merely enough to wet the parts. When charging the system I installed five ounces of oil in combination with just under 2 pounds of...

A/C on the hot rod cruiser

How many of you guys are running A/C on your hot-rodded cruiser? I`m thinking of adding it to my 68 Barracuda. The car is driven mostly in the summer when all of the shows are in swing but here in southeastern Va. it gets very hot and humid. It`s great to go cruising but no fun at all when...

    340 fan clutch question

I`m trying to find out if anybody has a 68-71 340 (without air conditioning) that came with a fan clutch. I`d like to add one to my (non A/C) `68, 340 but if it`s not correct then I won`t.

    Big block fan clutch

I`ve seen a lot of threads about trying to get a fan clutch to fit on big blocks in our A-bodies. Whether your car came with a bb or not ,and especially when using aftermarket radiators, there`s very little room for a fan clutch to be used. My car (a factory bb car) has only 3.25" from the water...

    Blades for viscous fan clutch

I`ve found a short shaft fan clutch for use in my big block Barracuda, so I asked the guy at the auto parts store to see if he could hook me up with a matching fan blade and I got this. (see picture). Has anybody ever used one of these types of blades with their fan clutch and are there any...

    67-69 Barracuda rear defroster

I`m reinstalling a rear defogger in my 68 Barracuda and I don`t know which way the wiring was originally routed. Do I go straight down the left kick panel, back, and then over, or do I go across the dash, down the right kick panel ,and then back? The defogger is in the right rear side panel of...

    Heater hose orientation

Does anybody know the proper heater hose orientation for both big block and small block? Right now on my big block I`ve got the right side of the heater core going to the rear most connection on the engine. The small block is plumbed ,right side of heater core to water pump, left to intake. What...

    Coolant in oil 273

I have a 67, 273 that I recently aquired and the guy who had the car said there was coolant getting in the oil. So far the heads have checked out okay and there`s no sign of a cracked block, however I have`nt had it pressure checked yet. One thing I have found is the timing cover has two...

    Radiator overflow

I`ve noticed many times just as my thermostat opens the radiator will overflow coolant. This doesn`t happen every time nor does it matter whether the radiator is topped off or down to the cooling fins. I believe the thermostat is a 185*. Any ideas?

    Exhaust manifold/water jacket leak

I`ve tried everything short of welding the exhaust manifold studs into the heads and I still have a coolant leak. Any suggestions?
