I bought a 5.7 some time ago, bad crank, spun 2-3 rod bearings as I recall. A local guy has a warranty 6.4 short block "reasonable." Should I pick this up? What do I need to "meld" this short block into the 5.7 engine I have?

Someone give me an overview? When was this implemented in hemis, and can you eliminate it? I'm speaking of course EG buying a used engine, going through it, and changing it to full time V8 operation So what parts, strategy, "if" etc, can you eliminate MDS?

Tomorrow morn I'm sposed to look at a dissasembled 5.7, "fairly complete." He claims he doesn't remember what was wrong possibly a rod noisy, ended up putting another used engine in the truck So this is torn down. I don't know for sure what his engine skills are, I don't know...
