I have heard that the 518 OD trans is not super strong. But what about the diesel 618? Is the bellhousing bolt pattern the same as a small block? And if they are usable, what about the case? Can it fit in a car application?

I have a full manual valve body in my 64 Sport Fury. When it shifts, it's so hard, it shakes the whole dash. Worse when cold. Worse on the 2-3shift. Any way to soften it up? Line pressure? It's a Cheetah VB.

O.K. I made the mistake of putting a TCI valve body in my trans. The problem is, if I adjust the throttle pressure to where the throttle lever is all the way to the rear, I get no kick down to a lower gear. Also, it seems like the throttle lever on the trans moves about 1/3 of the movement...
