Tomorrow I am going to attempt my first cam swap in my 318 any tips or tricks that may help me out?

I am doing a few mods to my 318. It was recently rebuilt to stock specs .20 over. For a cam I was thinking of the Crane energizer 272 with .454 lift or the Comp high energy 262 .462/.470 lift. I am running fresh 302 heads with new springs that will handle up to a .505 lift and 1.88 and 1.60...

Maybe someone could help me out, I am looking into a performance coil and some hotter plugs. Right now I am running a stock coil and Champion RN12YC plugs. I dont think this is getting the job done. Any recomendations? I am running a 318 0 deck with ported 302 casting heads 1.88+1.60s rpm airgap...
