Thought I would see if anyone might have an idea of what's going on with my 318. It will fire right up and run like a champ, I let it warm up to temp and shut it off. If I try to start it right back up it starts fine. If I wait about 10 to 15 minuets it won't start. Acts like it is flooded...

I have a 318 in my shop we got not to long ago and I just pulled the valve covers off to see which heads it has on it. The casting number is: 43233302 The chart I found online says they are 318 85 - 86 Fast burn Are they good heads?

Anyone have any idea what might have caused this? Also the piston has a slight mark on it, not very deep but on the outside edge there is a burr. Otherwise the piston looks okay. Looks like we could remove the burr and it would be fine but would like some other opinions on it.

Started the dart tonight and it's knocking bad on the left side, I'm hoping it's just a lifter. Pulled the valve cover knock seems to be coming from the #1, rockers looked like they where moving ok. Hope it didn't spin a baring! Guess I'l be pulling the head off this week end, might be time...

This is the spec's on the cam in my 318(Looks like greek to me! LOL). Bored 30 over (1976 block), new pistons (stock), Crank turned 20 under. Had the block and mains line bored. 904 heads ported and polished and shaved. Guy that did the heads thought the compression should be somewhere...
