    tuning help needed

Ok guys I don't know what big blocks like but I'm sure there are some here that do. What's going on is a fellow moved near me and has a Challenger with a 440 in it that sounds mean but is a slug and has asked me to help him get it running better. He helped build it about 15 yrs. ago and said...

Exh. flow #'s "with and without a pipe"

I've seen flow numbers posted for various heads on a few different sites. Sometimes I see it state "without exhaust pipe" and "with pipe" and without the pipe the numbers are lower. I can only assume that with no pipe it acts like the intake would with no guide to straighten the air. Is this...

1.6 ratio rockers. Do they actually hurt the geometry??

I've seen posted before that it is generally thought that 1.6 ratio rocker arms on a LA engine actually make the already bad valve train geometry worse but as I looked over a 360 block and heads I have it appears to me that they might actually help. I don't have any 1.6 rocker arms to compare to...

    Rocker arm geometry problem

Guys I've got a rocker arm geometry problem with my 360 and 1.5 ratio Comp Cams magnum rocker arms and I'm not sure what to do or if anything can be done so hopefully somebody here can lend a hand. I pulled the valve covers to put in a new set of valve springs and when I took the rocker arms...

Anybody using Comp Cams stainless roller tip rockers and chrome rocker shafts? I picked up a set awhile back for my 360 rebuild new in the box for a real good price then I recently read an article on Hughes engines where they had nothing good to say about them. Talked about how the stainless...

anybody run a Doug Herbert cam?

I'm replacing the cam and lifters in my 360. Was going to go with a Comp cam XE series but then I ran accross the Doug Herbert line of cams which look interesting. Their price is quite a bit less than the Comp cams too which helps alot right now since I have several other items to buy too. Just...

    Low vacuum question

Got my Cuda together and fired up and can't seem to get to idle as good as I think it should. About 700 RPM in gear is it so I put a vacuum gauge on it and the best I can get it to pull is 8-9 inches of vacuum. Don't matter if it's in gear or neutral. I rebuilt the carb. cause it's been setting...

    Another intake queston

What do you all think about the original Edelbrock Torker 340? I just got this months Mopar Muscle mag and in the back tech section Steve Dulcich answered a reader and I quote "The Edelbrock Torker is junk. I've tested it and it makes less power than a good two plane like the Edelbrock RPM or...
