Does someone make a superior throwout bearing?

Are they all manufactured by the same company or are there superior ones? My DF centerforce throwout bearing is making noise already. We installed a new pilot bushing with the clutch setup., I will ck it also but I want to order the TO bearing before I pull the tranny. I can always send it back.

    Need opinions on gear change.

Right now I have a 4:56 SG in my 4 speed, 68 FB Fish, with an 11:1 340, ported T/A heads, hughes solid cam 245/250@050, 560/575 lift and Eddy street tunnelram with vac. secondary 600 holleys. My problem is I now have 14" rims and 245:60:14 MT Indy Profile S/S tires. Way low geared I know. With...

Finally here is the pic of Ring Gear/slipping on flywheel

You can't really see anything other than how far it spun. You certainly can't move the ring gear! What a bummer cost me a chance to race and the cost for a new flywheel. Oh well.

Someone mentioned using E Clips instead os the oem spring clips on z bar linkage?

Can anyone remember where they bought the e clips large enough to use for Z bar and clutch linkage? Supposedly the E clips worked much better than the old spring clips! Thanks again. Kevin

Someone posted about cutting 2.5 inch hole in bottom of scattershield, was it you?

I read this in a previous post somewhere (can't find it). Would it possibly help to keep throwout fork/throwout bearing in place while installing trans into scattershield. The scattershield is an old formed steel ansen so it probably doesn't meet current std's anyway. We installed the tranny...

Well the wife says I can get a billet flywheel

Some more ideas needed for flywheel welding problem

Should someone with avg welding skills know how to weld the ring gear to the flywheel? Isn't the ring gear cast iron and the flywheel steel? Will that be an issue? Thx. By the way, I have to pull the engine cause the scattershield is being a nightmare to unbolt. SLOW LONG BURN!!!!!!

OK, I need suggestions from Scattershield owners!

I will be pulling my tranny and scattershield today. Heres my problem. How do you put the clutch fork into the clips on the throwout bearing with no inspection window? (scattershield completely solid). We dropped everything in together the 1st time. Should I cut a hole then reweld it? Maybe one...

When is the last time you saw a ring spin on a flywheel?

Wow couldn't have come at a better time! (sarcasm). Would you have better odds of being struck by lightning??

WOW! Does it get any better than this????

Hmm.. Trying to get the fish cranked up after 4 yrs. Got the motor in with the tranny and crappy old ansen scattershield, but it's finally in right!? Can't get it to fire, but finally get it timed right. Suddenly the starter is free wheeling! What? The FREAKIN RING GEAR HAS SPUN ON THE...

What do you folks think of tunnel ram, 4 spd, and 3:23 gears?

I have 68 FB Fish with 340, 11:01, ported iron heads, 245,250 @050. 550/575 lift solid Hughes cam, eddy street tunnel ram w/600 holleys. It has 4:56 SG gears right now ( very well mannered on the street ). I need to be able to drive it further than in town sometimes. Heres my thoughts. I have a...

    clutch trouble

I have a Ram Power Grip setup in an Abody. 1000 miles or so on it, not abused to much. Two things real weird. In 1st gear as you take off ( does not have to be full throttle ) when the rpms reach about 4000 the clutch pedal pops up firmly against your foot. Also when I try to adjust the pedal to...
