OK, I really tried looking for this info but all I kept finding is people going to 15, 16, 17, and even 18" rims!

Please, someone tell me what size tires will fit my stock steel 14" rims? I need to get some new tires on my car ASAP before I start driving it. Currently has 205/70-14's. Factory tire size listed on the door sticker is C78-14/6.98-14. There are almost no options for a 205/70-14 here in Tucson, AZ. However, I have found plenty of 215/70-14's. Would they fit?

You can safely put a 215 tire on a 5.5" wide rim, no problem. You didn't mention the width of your rims, but 14x5" is a pretty common size. You should be able to put 215's on a 5" rim with no problems. Your car being a C-body, you can also go to much wider rims with a little searching. You are also able to run 15" rims, which commonly come in 6" width's. Geof

185 195 205 215 225 x 65 70 75 will all work on a 14 x 5 inch wheel. i have used every one of those sizes on a 5 and 5.5 wheel at one point or another. the 215/70 will be just fine

Try Tire Rack and see what they might have to offer. I get a lot of my tires from them. www.tirerack,com

Thanks gentlemen. I will go ahead with the 215/70-14's. For the record, this is for my recently acquired '70 Duster with stock steel wheels.
