hello,

This summer my two sons finally got the old Mopars "A"s I gave them going. There goal was to drive them to school 100 miles away, they can not keep cars there so I am running them home and putting them up for the winter.

This went wll with my older son and his 64 Dart GT sl/6 that i tucked away 10 years ago. He got it all tinkered up and we took it to school yesterday.

The yonger son took on a tougher project, a 1972 duster that had a soft right rail and no motor, another car I put away 11 years ago.

Anyway he got it going, but after just a couple days he slid it off the road. Took out a left fender, hood and grill. I have borrowed a porta-pull and tomorrow night we will pull the radiator support back into place. Car goes straight and Radiator untouched !!!

We still hope he can drive it to school on Saturday. looking for a hood for sure. We have a really ratty left fender, but would love to find something a little nicer.

Anyone in the North-East have some sheet metal to sell or even lend for a week?

Definetly might do a parts car, but we don't have time to travel real far.

What models/years will interchange?

Thanks everyone,

It has been a fun summer of slant sixing for us. We'll post some pictures and some stories later.

...oh yeah, any leads on a Jeep liberty tailgate, emerald green? Yeah he hit a parked car...had to be something worth almost as much as my house....

i have the parts but too far away to do you much good. The 72 duster fender is all by itself as far as exact interchange. The 70-71 had a different marker light. The 73 up fender as far as i know is the same except for a tab to hold the sheetmetal that holds the hood latch on all you would have to do is weld the tab onto a 73 up fender i think and you would be rolling again. Also the 72 scamp and valiant are exactly the same as yours and they would need the tab also for 73 up but they seem to be easier to find around here. Hope that helps Justin
