Very nice.
My '57 Story;
Mom had a '61 Phoenix (sold it last year) and about 4 years ago, she was going to give it to me, because she wasn't driving it or doing anything with it.
A friend, whom I bought the '73 Scamp from about ten years ago, knew someone looking for a '61 Phoenix in the color that my Mom's was (it was his highschool car, so I really wanted to help the guy out), so we started talking about a trade.
The car; 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 4dr sed. ('61 was also a 4dr, but had the sportier roof) This car was Purple poly, but under the old paint was it's original Coral Pink and white colors. The car had a flat six, manual steering and manual brakes, all there, dent free, typical minimal rust, perfect caps and a box of NOS taillights.
Eventually, my mom figured out that I wanted to trade the car and bailed on it after she convinced herself she was gonna fix the Phoenix. Still kind of urked, but I'll have one.
I want a Suburban or a '57 Belvedere ragtop. I have some trade fodder. Once I get a few things out of the way, I will go after one and restore it myself, to hit the town in.
Interesting fact-o;
'57 Dodge swept bedsides were retrofit Wagon quarters.
I've been off and on put on a chase for those trucks and at one point, a '58 Dodge wagon parts car came up. I looked at it and figured it out pretty quick. We would have built the truck, but the guy looked at the cost of having our shop do that vs the real McCoy and it wasn't far from it.
