I need a bottom frame for rear seat 1966 Dart GT, my frame is rotted on one side. I am located in Delaware, anything close? Color doesn’t matter.

Thanks!

Keith

I had the same problem with the back seat of my ‘65 Dart GT convertible. They are really hard to find, so I took some pieces from my ‘65 Dart 2-door post back seat and used them to repair my original seat. It was a little work, but it came out ok.

I was thinking about fabricating something, but wasn’t sure how to make the curve. Thought about looking for some scrap seat material to see if it’s something I can weld. Wish there were frames available! Had the same issues with front seats on my 1980 Z28.

I made the curve by making pie cuts in the straight sections. Let me see if I can find some photos and I’ll attach them. I’m not a world-class fabricator like some of the guys on this site, but my upholsterer thought they were good enough to use.

This is such a great forum, thanks for the ideas! I think I can do this after all. Not spending hundreds of dollars sourcing and shipping rear seat parts will be a nice change of pace.

Cool

Kudos to @AAR 64Valiant for the original idea to me.

Watch the width of the metal. It could get in the way of the hog rings that attach the material
