I bought a 64 Valiant and it has an edlebrock 600 CFM 4 barrel carb. I believe it is over carborating this factory stock engine. Should I give up on this set up and go with a 2 barrel intake and carb. It just will not run and idle below 1200 rpm's. Other than idle it runs great.

an eddy carb can go on anything and work...

sounds like a major vacuum leak some where... do you have the PCV hose 5/8" hooked up either on the front or the back of the carb? or at least plugged?

what is you timing at?

last time you adjusted the rockers?

how about some info

Just adjusted the intake and exhaust valves to factory specs. Vacuum at about 14-15 pounds. Yes the vacuum hose is hooked up. timing within factory specs (put on a new distributor).

Adjust the choke,if you have the catalog, called the fast idle cam.

Wait till the choke is completly open,my guess it is not.Must be at least 170/180 running temp.
