1964-66 Rear Arm Rest Ash Receiver: toward front or rear?

It looks like we can bolt the rear arm rests either way, with the ash tray forward or rearward. How did the factory install 'em? Thank you.

I belueve the ash tray goes to the front

I checked my 65 Cuda parts car, they are towards the front. My other two early A's have no rear armrests at all so no help there!
