Hi

I am in the middle of importing a 64 Valiant. In the customs papers it not only requests year of manufacture but also the month.

Did they do these types of date tags or identifiers in 1964? If it is a tag then it would be long gone in this car.

This is my first early A Body and know very little about the manufacturing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thay have fender tags just like the rest bud should be on the driver side fender well ..... If not then its long gone

if the fender tag is missing check the cast date on the block and add about 30 days.

Beyound that if you can't figure it out niether can they, make something up. :)

the first 3 digits of the fender tags (or body number) so number is the scheduled date of production for the car.

New model year begins on Aug 1. Jan thru Sept is 1-9 as normal A= October, B = November, C = December. . .

So with that said if it is 315 then March 15th 1964. if it is A15 October 15th 1963 (1964 model year),
