How do you remove the driveshaft from a 1965 Barracuda with a 904 transmission.
I have it unbolted from the axle but the driveshaft doesn't slide out.

Also how do you remove the floor shifter cables from the transmission?

Does it have the Ball and Trunion mount on the rear of the trans??

If so, unbolt the rear ujoint clamps, unbolt the ball and trunion bolts, slightly pry @ the rear end on the u-joint, prying towards the front of the cat, once it is out, separate the ball and trunion flange from the flange on the tranny.

If that didn't make sense, it means theres a 4 bolt flange on the rear of the transmission that connects the driveshaft to the trans.

Yeah you have the old style shaft, it also needs to be unbolted at the trans end also....
Should be mounted to the side of the trans the cable, unbolt it from the hold position and then the lever at the valve body

Thanks for the help. The driveshaft came out, it was just a rusty where the parts meet.
