1965 barracuda shift cable question

I have a 65 barracuda with a 904 transmission, on the shift cable that goes to the tranny there is a spring. I'd like to know if this spring is available.

that looks like the park cable -- not the shift cable--- 65 is a 1 year only unit-- I have a earlier style -- will try to get a picture of the park cable arrangement today.

that cable housing looks pretty filthy for a rebuilt transmission.

Thanx! Yeah, it's still on the car which is being painted. I have to take it off to clean. A picture would be much appreciated.

Yup Torque-Flite Patty, get all your stuff from that guy, he will talk you through the whole thing, great guy. Helped me out.

I think you can fix the spring, Pat will be able to tell you. The other issue is when the cover is ripped off with out the spring clip being released its bad news.

I just took my 65 904 out and have all the pieces if I can help. It was a perfect working tranny I just went to a later model one because I needed a higher stall.

gtmopar, how did you shift a later model transmission?

Had to buy a new shifter. I bought a B&M pro magnum. Real tough to route the cable on the early A's without it rubbing on the header.
