Getting ready to paint my retaining clips. And was wondering if any one knows if they would have been flat or gloss paint from the factory? My car has a black interior and I just was not sure. Thanks!

My car has the white/gold interior, and mine aren't too glossy, but they're 47 years old... My car has an untouched original interior (that needs to be touched for sure) and I figured I'd just hit them with the same AA1 as everything else, not caring too much if they were perfect, possibly skipping the clear. The door insides, dash face and the metal trim around the windows should be full gloss, while the top of the dash should be "suede" (basically flat with a slight texture).

Personally, in black they might look better if they weren't super glossy. Rustoleum makes a semi-gloss black in rattle cans, or "Chassis Black" from the parts store would probably do. Try it one way, and if you don't like it, easy enough to pop them out and shoot them again.

Thanks!
I was leaning toward a mat to semi gloss black. I agree that it would probably not look right in gloss.
