1965 dodge dart - big turn signals on the side panel.

i came across this 65 dart the other day ant noticed it had two huge turn signals on the side, wich i have never seen on a 65 dart before or any dart for that matter. have any of you seen it before or know something about it. maybe it an EU model.

I'm guessing someone just thought it was a good idea to add some aftermarket lights.

By the licence plate it was registered in one of the European countries. Depending on the country, those side turn signals were required so were added.

Ugh. Definitely added on long after the car was built. The '66-body Darts built in Spain had side turn signal repeaters much more thoughtfully designed and integrated into the spear trim at the front of the fender, as shown here.

Turn signal repeaters are a great idea; it's kind of nice if your turn signal can be seen by people located where you're about to move toward. But there's no need to be ugly about it.
