any suggestions on how to remove and install drip rail mouldings without destroying them

I've used a bottle opener successfully quite a few times. Use a rag between the bottle opener and the top of the moldings to keep from scratching or denting them. Start at one end and work the other way just a very little bit at a time. It may act twisted when you get it off, but that's fine. It will go back on by capping it over the top of the drip rail and snapping the bottom back under.

^^^^^^Agreed, old fashion "church key" bottle opener. I put some electrical tape on the opener where it contacts the stainless molding to keep it from scratching/denting. Slow and gently is the plan here so you don't kink anything.
