Saw a listing on Hemmings today for a 66 Dart GT. It says it's a numbers matching car with a 318.
Was a 318 original equipment in a 66 Dart?

as far as I know 318 LA engine didn't come out until 1967, 273 would have been the only v8 offered

Correct. A 2 barrel and 4 barrel version of the 273 option were available though.

I'm no expert on telling the difference between the two engines but there is a picture in the ad. I'm guessing he means it's a numbers matching 273. It looks like a pretty solid car for $8000.

its a nice car but would never pay $8000 for it....
