1966 Factory V8 Valiant Signet Restoration For My Other Daughter

-
Worked from home today so I got a few free hours back so it was some frantic blocking into the sunset... so so close on the vertical surfaces. The trunk has a couple of spots that I will likely hit with a little glaze then a few more coats of poly and it should be perfect. The roof and hood have just a couple very minor dime sized places to fill and it is ready for the final coats of epoxy and the move to 220 grit.... Then likely a few more coats of epoxy and 400 grit and.... done.

When you’re done with that one, I have a 70 Duster you can work your magic on. I wish I was half as talented as what you got going on!

Now just a crap load of blocking with 180.... bit more than 1/2 of it is done... just some little details to fix...

Some guys might say, "It's not my car, it's for my daughter. I don't need to pay that much attention to detail." Of course, that's not you. Maybe you do a better job because it's your daughter, or maybe it's just who you are. Either way, you put way more effort into "perfection" than most. Kudos!!

just who I am.

You are a perfectionist. Absolutely amazing. You put professional body men to shame. Will there be anymore sanding I can do when I stroll down there?

If the weather holds it should be mostly done by then.

On the downhill side. RH side, trunk, roof blocked with 220 and guide coat then three coats of epoxy ready for the final 400. There are a few small things to fix but they are minor. The hood is needing more blocking and the LH side is going to get a 220 with guide coat tomorrow. Going to get adult beverages in the Dart.

Will this be another spring build completed this year? I know you got a million things in motion your redoing.

have not really thought about timeline. Typically try to line up with a big show. So either a 300 mile trip in June or October.

No. We've discussed this. Vixen is next. lol

Really... so close to being able to paint this thing and have 2 weeks off... I need days in the mid sixties to paint....

It is official I am old. After 3 days of blocking I can't get out of my seat this morning without help and yesterday afternoon it was affirmed at the movies with my daughter...
