Just changed to 3.91 gears on my 1967 Barracuda convertible with a Clifford Performance 225/6, A904 automatic, 7.25 rear end, and I also put new 6-leaf rear springs with a 2.5” lift. Stock spring location. Looking to put bigger/taller tires on the back to make it a touch more highway friendly and fill up the wheel well and need some help with tire and rim fitment.

Definitely want Cragar rims, small bolt pattern. Thinking 15x8 with BF Goodrich 255/70R15, which would be 29.1” tall and should put me at about 2900rpm at highway speed

Anyone running this type of setup on a 2nd gen Barracuda? Will it fit without rubbing?Any better suggestions?

I'm running 245/60-14 on the back of mine. I have been looking at it, and with my backspacing I'm pretty well centered between the leaf spring and the lip of the wheel well. I could probably squeeze a 255 tire in there but it would be a little tight. Yours should be the same width tire, just a little taller with the 15" rim. I am running stock rallye wheels, and I can't say for sure what the width and backspacing are on those.

Here's a couple pictures:

I run 275/60-15's on mine with 8 inch rims and 4 1/4 backspacing. They fit perfectly when I had small bolt pattern axles. When I switched to big bolt pattern it set the wheels a little further out and I had to roll the fender lip. 255's should fit fine width wise, but at 29 inches tall you will be close to the front edge of the wheel well, and may have to add a 1/2 inch spacer between the frame and the front spring mount to set the rear end back a bit.
