Hi all,

I found a car in Falls Church Va its a 1967 Dodge Dart GT with a 273. I will post link to the add and link to the pictures.

I'm interested in it but I am unable to get there to look the car over. Is there anyone in or around the area that could check the car out for me?

If you are in the area and can post here and I will send my cell number so you can give me details on the car when looking at it.

Also how rare is Monotone Medium Copper Metallic Painton a Dart?

I think I have seen this color on GTX and some Chargers of the year and maybe Chrysler and Fury models.

This is the link to the add-

If you live in the area and can look at it or have can you give me some more info on it. I really like the color combo and its funny I just looked at a 67 GTX that I think was in this color but out of my price range.

I don't know if this car would be one that I could put a paint job on it with no un-expected rust problems and drive around and enjoy or if it has some hidden rust areas and would be a major deal.

I'm looking for a driver to have fun with that needs no rust repair or I should say major rust repair.

Thanks everyone for info and help.

I've been watching that one for a while...looks pretty nice, but unfortunately I can't help you as I'm not all that close and tied up this weekend. Good luck, though!

Thanks and yeah not sure I can work a deal out on it or not I have emailed the owner just waiting for more info and his bottom dollar.

I think I'm about $1500 away from being where I need to be on it and depending on how much work. If its a good solid car like he says I may leave it alone and not restore it.

The headrests in '67 are quite rare.

Don't know, but thats the color of my convertible....

Thats a nice ride you have. I really like that color with the white top.

What motor?

I don't know when the 340s came into play I need to look that up again for these cars.

Thanks for the kind words. Engine stock 273 340's didn't come out 'til '68. You could also get the "GTS" model mid-year '67 with 383 big block.

Check out my Photo gallery for more pics of the car...

The wheels you have on yours are rare as well if my memory serves me right. Beautiful car man and not sure I will own this as of right now I have not found anyone to look it over for me.

I'm also not sure if I will get it for the price I have in mind.

Those are wheelcovers, and they are getting hard to find. They came on Chargers and Coronets, if memory serves, as well. The really rare ones are the "Plymouth" center'd ones. Those came on Barracuda's and GTX's, I think.

Price is a bit on the high side for that car, BUT, if it's as good as the seller says, you'll save on metal replacement/body work in the long run.

Good luck with the purchase! Hope you get it!

I believe this owner of this Dart is a member here. Its been advertized here before.

I've seen the car, but never taken a really close look. I believe the ad is accurate. I've seen it since the 14" wheels and dog dish caps were installed.

I took these pictures when I saw it in Sterling, Virginia before the wheels were changed.
I like it myself, but if and when I add a Dart to my collection, it will be a convertible.

The add that was posted on here said it was sold but now its back on the market. I know after reading it on FABO it has more info on the car then in the craigslist add.

I didn't know it was hit in the rear and the trunk panel doesnt line up, that worries me a bit. Also the trunk panel I will need to go back and look at the pics and see if that was changed or if it is still the cut panel.

I asked the guy if I had someone look at the car for me if he would deliever it as I have no way I driving there and back.

I know most people on craigslist after you tell them you had a stroke and you also help take care of parents and don't really have anyone else to help do not believe me. When I got sick at 29 every friend or so called friend I had was no where to be found and still are not around.

I do think the car is a little over priced and the surface rust around the window area worries me a lot and really there is no such thing as surface rust its rust that is just going to get worse if not stopped.

I think its about $1500 away from the price it needs to be for it to at least sell to me.

I wonder how the pans are man so many questions.

Well, it says the trunk and floor is solid in the FABO ad.

He did email me back and said all pans are good and that maybe his son can deliver it to me.

After paying for classes I just dont have the full amount of cash...I'm still very interested in the car and really want it.

This car and a 71 Road Runner are the top two on my list. I like both color combos of both cars.

The flip side of it all is buying a car that needs work verses buying a car done already. The prices of done cars are so low. I found a 68 GTX for 24K or best offer.

There are some real bargins out there on some nice cars. Money is still tight and prices have fallen on the cars that are selling.

Very true and its crazy as to what some are really selling for. I have watched cars that a few years ago would have went on ebay and on the boards for 60 to 70K sell for 20s and 30s.

People who have to sell are taking a hit and it is a buyers market right now.

I just paid for classes or I would already own this 67 or 71 Road Runner. I'm hoping when done with my classes by next summer prices are still down to were I can afford them.
