1967 (one year only) Radio Delete Plate for BARRACUDA

-
I have a 68 dash bezel in my possession now and will be able to get the 67 cover 99% and I have a 67 cover incoming.

I can also make a 68-69 cover

It seems that the 67 valient And barracuda covers are different.
I am interested in a 68 plate.
As I understads it. The plate is an exact copy of the original 1968 plate, dimension wise?
Thanks.

already
Now do we discuss which cars came with a plug in the fender if no radio?
got that covered...

67 no hole unless OPTIONAL radio was ordered (factory made the hole) OR dealer installed (then hole was made by dealer per the template in the FSM)

BUT... I am making a antenna delete for 67 Dart that currently has an antenna.

Factory 67 bezel with a polished stainless steel insert (still trying to source a proper screw)

Nice work!

67 Barracuda and Dart the radio was an option, not a delete, standard was no radio.
Post radio.
Dart had different center dash piece for radio/no radio, Barracuda had same dash, delete plate or radio installed.

68 & 69 radio was standard, thumbwheel.

67 Barracuda radio delete plate thicker than 68/69 plate.

Great idea, lots of yahoos did that for tunes man.

For what it is worth, I found pictures of my old 68 340S Barracuda with radio delete. The plate is definitely the thinner version as shown above.

NOTHING IS FOR SALE just yet and when it is, I'll make a sale post.

I have an OEM coming in on loan but I got great dimensions from CFD244.

All of the parts I make I try to be 100% true to the OEM piece only deviating where necessary.

Thank you.
Understand.

It has what appears to be a witness mark from casting, if the face is the top, at the base of the curve.
Thanks to the generosity of Davescuda I have a delete plate in hand (2822554) and I can say without a doubt the edge in question is just a fillet (about 1/16" radius) there is an optical illusion with the naked eye but under a 10X eye loop there is nothing but a smooth transition from the side to the top.

Now I have 4 designs in the works..

67 Barracuda / 71 Dart (rallye gauge)?
67 Barracuda Custom (0.10" taller)
68-69 Barracuda / 71 Dart (rallye gauge)?
70-76? Dart / Valiant standard trim level radio delete bezel

I will be having 3rd party prototypes printed in a few weeks and if all goes right with some test fitting I'll put up a sale ad early next year.

I'm still deciding if I will paint them or leave them raw for the buyer to paint. There are several Argents on the market. and as I understand the 71 Dart is black, which brings up another question.

I can have them printed in White or Black, which would be best for painting? (black for the 71 Dart makes sense) but for the Argent I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Thanks to everyone for their help.

The lines will not be in the final result

Your 1st pic appears 67, but the insert isn't correct for OEM. It should be very similar looking to the bezel on a headlight switch. The one in your pic appears smooth. Maybe that's a dart vs barracuda difference but I doubt it.

The bezel part number comes out to be 70-76 dart valient low trim level bezel.

The heater/AC? bezel is just one I had laying around (compliments of RatRodAl)

I don't know what a true delete plate would look like for this application, I just removed the holes and raised areas for the posts. But the rest is identical to the radio bezel.

There is a real difference 67 Dart to 67 Barracuda.

  1. The raised area around the posts is short, flat and smaller in OD then Dart
  2. The opening for the dial is not as tall up and down than the Dart
  3. The opening for the push buttons is not as tall up to down than the Dart
