I feel like im losing it. service manual doesn't show floor shift assembly for the steering column. I disassembled mine for paint with out taking pics. I can not figure out what the bearing housing retaining nuts retain? nor how the (non gearshift) housing is kept from rotating in the column jacket cut out? any help?

thanks,
Keith

On a floor shift column. Does anyone know if the coupler indexes clockwise or counter clockwise? It goes in both ways. Also, is there anything keeping the coupler from moving back and forth within the notch?

What service manual are you using? I have the actual factory service manual that is about 6" thick that the mechanics used in the service department. I would be happy to look it up for you and possibly send you photos of the pages, but it will take a couple of days to get it done. Let me know if you would like my help, that is why we are all here on the forum, to help fellow members having a problem. I would also need your email if you want me to send it to you. just PM me with it.
