I do believe this is to standard bore based on the OEM part number on the original pistons. There is barely a lip in the cylinders. The block has a BH29 vin stamping indicating this is an original A Body barracuda 383 HP block. I am not sure of the value taking into consideration someone with an original 383 barracuda missing the original engine and wanting to be as close to correct as possible or if someone gets really lucky I may have the original block for there car... with only around 700 units produced this stamped block is not very common.
I have the block, main caps, rods and pistons, and intake.
I am located in
Dalton ga 30721

Cast in 6/25/68 (or 8/25/68) and machined and built in 12/27/68. That's almost the middle of the production year. They started stamping blocks in mid year of 68 and all 69's had full vin stamp right? Or is that all hearsay?
The casting date is 6 25 68.
Unless there was a mistake at the factory which sometimes there was, all blocks and transmissions were required by federal mandate beginning for 1969 year model (not to be confused with casting dates or build dates) to have the entire vin stamped on them which is stamped on the machined pad as shown in my photos and transmissions also have a pad for stamping...in 68 and earlier blocks just the last 8 was stamped but it was actually stamped on the back of the block drivers side on the bell housing flanges and the trans was stamped in the same place on the bell housing right where it meets up to the engine...
