1969 Barracuda Fastback Production Numbers

I, like many Forum members, have the Govier prodiction number book. I've reposted a couple of photos from the book taken from another thread. When one reads the numbers for the fastback, it shows total production in 1969 at 17788, of which 1830 were 6 cylinder and 11827 were 8 cylinder. This adds up to 13657. Where or what are the other 4131 cars?

The V8 number of 11827 is comprised of:
318 8161
340 2685
340S 1431
340Cuda 568
383S 603
383Cuda 378
for a total of 13826 ... 1999 more than the V8 number.
So at this point I'm thinking that the 340 number of 2685 includes the S and Cuda numbers, which means the non S and Cuda 340's only number 686. 1431+568 = 1999. 2685-1999 = 686.

This still doesn't explain where the other 4131 cars are. Were there really only 686 340 fastback Barracudas? That makes mine much rarer than a 340S and almost as rare as a 'Cuda?
Anyone have any further insight into these numbers?

I'm surprised that no one has responded to this thread yet. Is there another source besides Govier for production numbers? Are there problems with numbers of any other models in his source book? How do we know any of the numbers are correct? I know he is supposed to be the numbers guy but there seem to be too many discrepencies with the '69 fastback to believe any of the numbers ...
I don't have the book in front of me because it is packed away with my car for the winter.

First lets get one thing straight. Galen Govier is not the Mopar numbers man. He is over rated and a waist of money. I will not get in to it. His books are not 100% correct.

I'm a little surprised that this thread hasn't spawned any discussion. I've sent an email to Govier asking about the numbers but I don't really expect to hear back. If we can't believe his numbers (and I thought that he got all of Chrysler's early records) then where do we turn to? And how can we believe any of the other production numbers? Any search on the web for production numbers uses his numbers ...

GG's time has COME and GONE, he's washed UP these days with all the "behind work"? His white books are good but even he has told me there're not 100% correct. I've found problems within and he's admitted it.
